About Marvin Wekesa and Mourine Melenia

Marvin and Mourine Wekesa are Kenyan physicians currently serving in Isiolo, Kenya. As medical students, both Marvin and Mourine attended the Kairos course. It was there they learnt that the Bible is a story about a missionary God who has been, since the fall of man, working to reconcile man back to himself.  They realized their career and resources are but tools that God has graciously given them to use to proclaim His Kingdom.

Marvin and Mourine have prayerfully committed to use their career as ‘tentmakers’, serving as an orthopaedic surgeon (Marvin) and family physician (Mourine) among unreached people in Kenya or elsewhere in sub-Saharan Africa, so that they too will get to hear the message of salvation in Christ Jesus.

Their vision is to preach Christ among the unreached people living in the northeastern part of Kenya. They will be offering medical services, for which the people are in dire need, and they believe that will provide a platform for sharing the love of Christ to the Turkana people. Inspired by Romans 10:14, they are seeking to follow the call of God to go to this remote area and share the love of Christ.

Romans 10:14 – “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them??
