I grew up and spent most of my life in Rockwood before retiring to Paisley Road in Guelph.  I worked in the appliance industry.  For over 30 years I was at the W.C. Wood freezer factory downtown Guelph, mostly in the Quality and Engineering departments.

My wife, Wilma, and I have been married 48 years and for over 30 years we were active foster parents.  We fostered over 60 different children.  Some on emergency care and some for years.  Recently we have been active with Christian Horizons Family Home program providing care for special needs individuals.

We have two married daughters Marilyn (teacher) and Jennifer (Human Resources at CH).  I was an elected Municipal Councillor with Wellington County for over 20 years. I chaired the Social Services Committee and guided projects like the Post Office renovation, the Low Cost Housing building in Fergus and a rural homelessness initiative.

Currently we are active at Calvary Baptist Church Guelph. I was involved in Everton Community Church, a small rural independent church where I was challenged to stop just attending church and make a real commitment to Jesus.  I was Baptized there in my early 20s. I am involved in two local Mission Organizations.  Into All The World and Impact Hope. I have travelled on Short Term Missions with both Organizations.
