I was born and raised in Toronto (early 60’s). I grew up in a very loving, Christian home. As a young child I can remember my parents’ involvement with the United Church of Canada. I have fond memories of my early years at church, involvement with youth programs served foundational and inspirational. Guiding me to pursue leadership roles and become involved with children/youth programs throughout my life.
In 1988, I married my adoring wife (Shelley), whom I met at work. In 1989, I was offered a job by Alpha Laval-Agri to help set-up a new warehouse. We packed up and moved to Peterborough to pursue the job. We lived in the Kawarthas for 10 years, bought our first home and were blessed with two healthy children (Tyler 1991 & Brooke 1993).
My involvement with the church was almost non-existent from my late teens – until I was married. With young children we rekindled our faith and became active members of the Havelock United Church. Both of our children were christened at this church and once again, I came back to the youth ministry and helped coordinate the Friday Night youth program. Additionally, I became involved with coaching minor Hockey teams and was awarded the 3M Canadian Coaching award in 1997/98.
We have relocated and moved to the Grey Bruce area of Ontario – Shelley and I have been involved with Children/Youth ministry for the last ten years and have experienced some of the most rewarding times of our life involved with the churches and the people in this area.
Additionally, we are now involved with a program to help people who suffer from grave emotional and mental disorders (addictions & abuse) and are privileged to support and help these people turn their life and will over to the care of God! God gifted us two amazing service dogs, Nanuq & Tuk as resources, to help us help others.
