It gives us great joy to share this update with you. As we come to the end of 2025, we can’t help but be thankful to the Lord for being so gracious to us. We have a lot to be thankful for and a lot to look forward to in the new year.
We are very thankful to the Lord for your partnership in the work at Isiolo.
Here are some highlights of the year that’s been as well as prayer praises and requests…
Family
On the morning of the 26th of December 2025 we welcomed the newest member of the Wekesa family!
Healthy baby boy – Eden Shammah Wekesa – was born to us with a birth weight of 3.6kg! The girls are ecstatic to have a little brother.
We praise the Lord for the safe pregnancy journey and delivery.
Naomi and Zana are both progressing well with their homeschooling. Zana has completed her preschool and will be progressing to 1st grade this coming year. Naomi started her 4th grade in September.
On December 19th 2025, Mourine and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary! We are thankful for the Lord’s sustaining grace that has kept us thus far.
Ministry
It has been a year of numerous opportunities to be the hands and feet of Christ through our medical careers in Isiolo.
Mourine has had a fruitful year running the outpatient clinic in the Muslim slum village. Not only has she ministered to their physical needs through medical healthcare and public health initiatives like water filter distribution; but she has also ministered spiritually by praying with her patients and initiating spiritual conversations thus ‘planting seeds’ of the gospel in this difficult ground.
Marvin has been offering orthopedic care at the government hospital. This has been a particularly challenging year at the hospital because of personnel strikes and lack of basic supplies. But we thank the Lord that, despite this, he still got to help a lot of patients – most of whom are very poor and would otherwise not be able to access orthopedic care.
In November, Marvin got to attend the ‘MedSend Pathway Retreat‘ that was held in Phoenix Arizona. It was such a refreshing time to reconnect with friends, mentors and ministry partners who were such a great encouragement to us in our ministry.
The Lord impressed upon our hearts to pray and work towards establishing a hospital in Isiolo so as to enable us to better reach out to the great healthcare needs that we encounter daily and – more importantly – to point a helpless and harassed people to the bread of life who satisfies to the uttermost!
We are happy to report that on the 9th of December 2025 we officially did the groundbreaking for the project and, by God’s grace, we have already made some progress on the foundation of the hospital!
We have been greatly encouraged by the Lord’s provision for this project through you, our ministry partners, who pray for us faithfully and give generously to enable this vision to come to life! May the Lord richly bless you as you abound in generosity; faithfully holding the rope for the ones in the well. Be assured that your labor in the Lord is not in vain!

Prayer requests
– Give thanks with our family as we welcome the baby and pray with us that he will grow healthy and strong in the Lord.
– Pray for God’s wisdom and help in the schooling of our children.
– Pray for us to get more opportunities to serve with our medical careers and for boldness to share the gospel in our context.
– Pray for the Hospital project, that the Lord will provide everything that is required for its construction and running this coming year.
